Calcium
Your body requires calcium to build and maintain strong bones. Your heart, muscles and nerves also need calcium to function properly. In the bloodstream, it’s used to send nerve signals, release hormones like insulin and regulate how muscles and blood vessels contract and dilate. As we can see, calcium is an essential element to the human body. In fact, research suggests that calcium, along with vitamin D, may have benefits beyond bone health: perhaps protecting against chronic illnesses and diseases such as cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure. But evidence about such health benefits is not definitive. It is very important to have the right amount of calcium in your bodies. Otherwise, it will try to compensate the deficit from your skeleton and teeth to use elsewhere, thus, weakening your bones. For this reason, as we grow older we may need to supplement our body with exterior sources of calcium, such as with the products below.
